Bruce Katz on The Indecency of the Harper Government
This week Voice of Palestine interviews Bruce Katz from Montreal, president of PAJU, Palestinian and Jewish Unity about their recent statement entitled The Indecency of the Harper Government’s Support for Israel. We talk with Bruce about the position of PAJU, as well as engaging in a wide-ranging discussion of Harper’s visit this past week to the region.

Hannah Mermelstein on Adalah-NY and its BDS Work
This week Voice of Palestine interviews Hannah Mermelstein, a school librarian and Palestine solidarity activist based in Brooklyn, NY. She is an active member of Adalah-NY: The New York Campaign for the Boycott of Israel and has led more than 25 delegations to Palestine. We talk with Hannah about Adalah’s boycott work, the campaign against Sodasteam, and the importance and successes of the BDS movement.

Our final piece of music is by Jewish American folk singer David Rovics, entitled “I Wanna Go Home”, and is dedicated to all the Palestinians in diaspora who have steadfastly refused to relinquish their right and their passion to return home.

This week Voice of Palestine interviews Muath Abu Alqumssan from the Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat for Freedom Weeks. Muath, himself a former political prisoner, discusses the upcoming events to call for freedom for all Palestinian political prisoners, including Ahmad Sa’adat, and for an end to Palestinian Authority security cooperation with Israeli occupying forces.

Our final piece of music is by Palestinian American singer George Kurmoz entitled Ansar, after the infamous Ansar prisons maintained by Israel to incarcerate Palestinians. The song is dedicated to the Palestinian political prisoners, whose day of freedom and justice will surely come soon.

David Heap: Update on Gaza and the Gaza’s Ark Campaign

This week Voice of Palestine cohost Hanna Kawas interviews David Heap, a spokesperson for Gaza’s Ark. David updates us on the situation in Gaza and the status of the Gaza’s Ark project, as well as what people can do to help.
Our final piece of music is by Syrian American singer Michael Heart, We Will not go Down in Gaza Tonight. This song became a global rallying point during the 2008-9 Israeli invasion of Gaza and on this 5th anniversary of that horrific attack, we salute its simple yet profound tribute to the steadfast Gazan people.

This week Voice of Palestine interviews Ramah Kudaimi, Membership and Outreach Coordinator for the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. We talk with her about the group’s objectives, their BDS work and the Boycott Sodastream campaign in particular which is also ongoing here in Canada.
Our final piece of music is a clip featuring the Vancouver-based Solidarity Notes Labor Choir, singing during the last local Boycott Sodastream picket. We dedicate this song to the Palestinian solidarity movement world-wide that is keeping the Palestinian struggle alive on the global stage. This week Voice of Palestine interviews Ed Mast from the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign SeaMAC, who updates us on their transit ad campaign. Despite recent censorship and unequal treatment by King County, SeaMAC has launched new ads on King County Metro buses calling for Palestinian refugees to be allowed to return and share their historic homeland.
Our final piece of music is Unsettling Goods by Tony Quarrington, a song which is helping to launch the Canada wide campaign by the United Network for Justice and Peace in Palestine and Israel to boycott products made in illegal Israeli settlements.

This week Voice of Palestine interviews human rights activist Eva Bartlett, who has lived for extended periods in Gaza. Eva will talk about the deteriorating situation in Gaza as well as update us on her upcoming speaking tour in BC and the Pacific Northwest, including a Nov. 29 event for the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinians in Vancouver.

Our final piece of music is SOMEDAY by Finian Cunningham, political analyst and singer-songwriter, originally from Belfast Ireland.
In the singer’s own words, this song pays tribute to the incredible resilience and steadfastness of the Palestinians in their struggle for justice and end to apartheid and occupation of their homeland.

Tyler Levitan: Canadian Boycott Coalition’s Campaign on Sodastream

This week we are interviewing Tyler Levitan from Independent Jewish Voices about the Canadian Boycott Coalition and their new campaign against Sodastream.
Sodastream is manufactured in illegal Israeli settlements and is now being carried in many Canadian stores. (For more info on Sodastream and other Israeli settlement products, check out the following link.)

Alan talks with us about the 9th anniversary of the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and the new evidence pointing to his murder, as well as the dysfunctional state of the Palestinian Authority and challenges facing the Palestinian diaspora.
